Introduction of This Book
Jesus was crucified and died to atone for all our sins. Is this fact a mystery that most Christians do not even know? No. It is an undeniable fact that everyone including non-Christians, understands, and it is a disclosed part of the gospel. But why was Jesus, the Son of God, baptized by a human being named John the Baptist? This question remains a mystery to most Christians. "The mystery of Christ" (Ephesians 3: 4, Colossians 4: 3) is hidden in "the baptism" (Acts 10:37) the Lord Jesus had received from John the Baptist. And "the baptism" (Acts 10:37) is the keyword of this book.
Preface
For Christians, there is no precious treasure worth more than the eternal life of Heaven. And, as Jesus said, "The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field" (Matthew 13:44), the born-again righteous hide the heavenly treasure in their hearts. The fact that everyone perceives is no longer a mystery. Those who know the secret to entering eternal life in Heaven are very rare.
Jesus was crucified and shed His blood to death to blot out all our sins. Is this fact a mystery to most Christians? No! Not at all! It is the undeniable fact that even the non-Christians know well, and it is the disclosed part of the gospel. But most Christians do not know, “Why Jesus, the Son of God, was baptized by a human being named John the Baptist." The baptism that Jesus had received from John remains a mystery even to Christians.
"The mystery of Christ" (Ephesians 3: 4, Colossians 4: 3), which saved us from all our sins, is hidden in "the baptism" (Acts 10:37) that Jesus had received from John the Baptist. The Apostles preached the Original Gospel that they had received from the Lord. But today’s Christianity has lost one of the contents of the Original Gospel, that is, the mystery of the Baptism that Jesus received.
Jesus was baptized in the form of laying on of hands from John the Baptist, the representative of humankind. By "the baptism" (Acts 10:37), the Lord became "the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world" (John 1:29). And the Bible proclaims that "His baptism" is "the beginning of the gospel" (Mark 1:1). I admonish all readers of this book to realize "the mystery of the baptism Jesus has received" and to receive the perfect remission of sins to be born again by faith.
